Pathways among the trees and new playground equipment draw residents from the surrounding neighborhood to enjoy the beauty of one of Tacoma's first parks, built in 1901. You can also park at the Fort Nisqually picnic area and walk along the road to the south or park on Mildred Street and walk down the utility road to the west until you see the off-leash area sign.

6) Tubby's Trail Dog Park

Tubby’s Trail Dog Park near Hwy-16 is 9 acres and is a wide, rectangular field perfect for throwing balls with grassy side slopes that your dog can run up and down.
